"From the moment we entered we felt a warm welcome from Ann, the milk, biscuits and bara brith ready for our first teatime! Twll y Cae is a perfect haven for our weekend break. Immaculately clean and well appointed, it has a secure, peaceful atmosphere and after a comfortable night we feel energised to do a little sightseeing and then returned to our second evening at the cottage. The gardens are also delightful and the show of spring flowers and the elevated stone pathways. Back from a local tour along the coast, Criccieth was delightful and then on to Abersoch but glad to return to Twll y Cae for a relaxing evening by the fire. We had a lovely weekend."

"This is our postponed holiday from last year and we found the cottage to be as wonderful as we hoped for: spotlessly clean, well equipped and its situation suited us perfectly. We spent a number of days around Snowdonia, walks for us and our dog and activities for our son. One of our best days was taking the train up Snowdon and walking back down- amazing views. We also had lots of visits along the Llyn Peninsula and found some lovely villages. The fish and chips from the chippy in Criccieth are a must and well worth the wait and we would also recommend Dylands restaurant, also in Criccieth. Our nicest evenings were spent eating meals at the cottage in the garden. We have had a lovely sunny week staying in Ann's cottage and would definitely love to come back again."

The garden has been a constant source of delight despite the awful weather of Bank Holiday Monday when the rain and hail kept us indoors! Porthmadog, Criccieth and Beddgelert were a joy as always-we've had a wonderful week and look forward to returning soon."

It has everything you need for a most comfortable holiday and easily accommodates 5 adults. The owner makes you feel at home upon arrival with flowers and a very generous food basket. “We've had a wonderful family holiday from the moment we stepped in the door. The cottage is beautiful and so welcoming. Lovely to have 2 bathrooms. We have been largely lucky with the weather and so the garden has been enjoyed too, particularly by Max our dog. A well equipped kitchen and we have made use of this combined with some fab places to eat- Dylans in Criccieth, Portmerion hotel, Big Rock Cafe in Porthmadog and the pizzeria in Betwys y Coed. Taking a piece of art home from Rob Piercy's gallery in Porthmadog. Well rested. We really hope to come back to Twll y Cae.”
JG Oct 2019
“This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. The pictures on the website do not do justice to it at all. The whole feel of the place is fantastic, a great mix of modern and traditional with everything you could possibly need and more for a comfortable stay. The garden, like the cottage is quirky and inviting and just a joy to view on even the rainiest of days (we had several of those) and secure for the dogs. Lovely walks with the dogs up the lane from the door. We didn’t feel the need to venture far from the cottage but it is in fact an ideal base for exploring further afield across the Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey and Snowdonia. One thing I would stress is to use the directions given with the cottage details and don’t, as we did, use Google maps as sat nav as that takes you to the wrong place entirely a few miles away. I cannot recommend this cottage and it’s owner highly enough. It’s a real gem.”
EC Oct 2019
“By far the best cottage I have stayed in. Both the cottage and its garden were delightful. There was an amazing welcome pack .and a lovely vase of flowers to greet us. It was also lovely to meet the owner who was most helpful and friendly Not often do you meet the owner! I would highly recommend Twll y Cae for a fantastic holiday.”

“Fabulous week! Weather gorgeous and cottage fantastic. Thank you for your welcome and use of your beautiful cottage. Been everywhere from Barmouth to Aberdaron – a truly marvellous coastline and the Welsh people so welcoming. Torn between sitting in the wonderful garden and getting out and about so tried to do both! Kept the bird feeders topped up and rewarded with visits from a variety of our feathered friends including a woodpecker after the peanuts.”

“This is an extremely comfortable cottage, all on the ground floor. Also a great location being near the main road to either Cricieth and Porthmadog, yet very quiet. The garden is quite charming, a real oldie worldie cottage garden, very dog friendly. Both my husband and I have just spent a week there, we totally relaxed, slept so well, enjoyed reading books, with dog friendly beaches nearby. A very good, well-earned break. Totally recommend, already booked a week next year.”

“Stayed here with our mums and our dog for a week. Fantastic base, easy to travel about and see the coast and mountains. Well equipped, very comfortable bungalow, it was lovely to light the fire at night. Nicely laid out design and ideal for the less mobile - walk in shower, no steps and even floors. Bought some bird seed and it was delightful to see the many birds darting around feeding - 2 cheeky robins joined in the fun. Would love to return soon. Thank you.”
LH April 18
“The bungalow is so well equipped - everything you could need is provided even down to a garlic press. Suited us all - lovely to have 2 bathrooms and the layout was well thought out - ideal for our older mum and mother in law. Comfortable seating - nice to have the 2 tables to sit at in the evening to play cards and games. Despite the mixed weather we were warm - heating good and the fire was a welcome touch in the evenings. Well placed for easy access to Criccieth and the surrounding area. Look forward to returning soon.”
